Getting started

What is MerchDash

What MerchDash is, who it is for, and how the pieces fit together.

MerchDash connects to the Amazon Ads API and manages Sponsored Products campaigns for Merch on Demand, KDP, and FBA sellers. Instead of hand-tuning bids in the Amazon console, you write readable automation rules and guided harvesting strategies that MerchDash evaluates on a schedule — with a preview, a review queue, and a full revert trail, so nothing happens to your account without your say-so.

The core loop

  1. Sync. MerchDash pulls your campaigns, ad groups, keywords, targets, search terms, and daily performance reports into its own archive, and keeps that archive fresh automatically. See How data sync works.
  2. Analyze. Fast, filterable tables and charts over your entire history — per campaign, per keyword, per target, per advertised ASIN, or accumulated across everything. Start with Campaigns & filters.
  3. Automate. Automation rules written in a small plain-language script handle bids, budgets, states, negatives, and harvesting; Smart Rules do keyword harvesting and negation with no code at all.
  4. Review & revert. Every change is previewed, logged with a reason, and reversible — a single change or a whole run. See Change history & rollback.

Why an archive matters

Amazon's reporting API only reaches back about 95 days. MerchDash archives every synced day permanently, so your usable history keeps growing after Amazon drops it — automation conditions like LIFETIME or BEFORE 90 DAYS AGO work over everything you have ever synced.

What it is not

MerchDash is deliberately transparent, not a black box: there is no opaque “AI bid optimization” you cannot inspect. Every rule is a script you can read, every run shows exactly what it changed and why, and every change can be undone.

Where to start. Create an account, connect Amazon, then paste your first script from the cookbook — in review mode, so you approve everything it proposes.
